As a Fund Accountant specializing in hedging, your role will be crucial in managing financial instruments designed to reduce or offset risk in various financial portfolios. You will work closely with investment professionals to ensure effective hedging strategies are implemented and maintained.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with investment teams to understand their risk exposure and objectives.
- Develop and recommend hedging strategies to mitigate specific risks.
- Identify and select financial instruments suitable for hedging purposes, such as options, futures, swaps, and forwards.
- Analyze and evaluate the risk-return profile of selected instruments.
- Conduct ongoing analysis of investment portfolios to assess the effectiveness of existing hedging strategies.
- Adjust hedging positions as needed to align with changing market conditions.
- Monitor and manage risks associated with hedging positions.
- Implement risk controls and stress tests to ensure portfolio resilience.
- Prepare accurate and timely reports on hedging activities for internal and regulatory purposes.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and accounting standards.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of hedging strategies, transactions, and positions.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as risk management and compliance, to ensure alignment with overall fund objectives.
Requirements:
- A degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is required.
- A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in fund accounting and hedging strategies.
- In-depth knowledge and practical experience in hedging strategies and financial instruments.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess portfolio risk and return.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to hedging activities.
- Proficiency in financial software and tools for risk analysis and modeling.
