Key Accounts Manager will be responsible for growing a portfolio of existing accounts as well as supporting the onboarding of new accounts. In addition, will develop and implement strategic plans and forecasts to achieve objectives for growth and profitability for the assigned portfolio of accounts.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and nurture relationships with key accounts, understanding their supply chain needs and standard operating procedures (SOP).
  • Conduct regular business reviews with clients to discuss performance, address issues, identify opportunities, and review long-term plans.
  • Develop and update long-term account plans, ensuring alignment with client goals and deadlines.
  • Create supply chain and logistics solutions tailored to each client, focusing on short-term value creation and long-term sustainability.
  • Take ownership of problem resolution for assigned accounts, addressing issues promptly and effectively to maintain client satisfaction.
  • Identify and qualify opportunities for additional business with existing accounts.
  • Lead internal cross-functional teams to develop solutions for client opportunities, ensuring alignment with client needs and service requirements.
  • Establish and optimize operating procedures for assigned accounts, conducting training for internal staff and client team members as needed.
  • Own and be accountable for revenue projections for individual accounts as well as the complete portfolio, actively driving successful customer onboarding.
  • Lead larger customer projects across the organization, coordinating with clients to meet service requirements and deliverables.
  • Negotiate pricing and service level agreements with clients, ensuring alignment with company objectives and profitability targets.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 8 years of relevant business experience in a company selling service solutions, preferably in freight or third-party logistics.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Proficiency in operational finance, including rate development, pricing strategies, and financial analysis.
  • Strong industry experience in FTL, LTL freight, warehousing, distribution, and related technologies.
  • Proven track record in strategy development, program implementation, and business growth.
  • Experience in negotiating customer contracts and pricing, with a focus on organic account growth.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working independently and as part of a team.
