CCTV Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the effective deployment and operation of CCTV surveillance systems to enhance security and safety measures for clients. With their technical expertise and hands-on experience, they contribute to safeguarding properties, assets, and individuals against security threats and risks.
Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and set up CCTV systems according to client specifications and industry standards.
- Mount cameras, run cables, and connect equipment to ensure proper functionality and coverage.
- Test and troubleshoot newly installed systems to verify performance and address any issues.
- Conduct regular maintenance checks on existing CCTV systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Identify and repair faulty components, including cameras, cables, and recording devices, as needed.
- Perform software updates and firmware upgrades to keep systems up to date with the latest security patches and features.
- Assess client needs and recommend upgrades or expansions to existing CCTV systems to enhance security coverage.
- Plan and execute system upgrades, including the installation of additional cameras, storage devices, or advanced features.
- Coordinate with clients to schedule upgrades and minimize disruption to their operations.
- Respond to service calls and troubleshooting requests from clients regarding CCTV system issues.
- Diagnose problems remotely or onsite, using diagnostic tools and testing equipment to identify root causes.
- Provide technical support and guidance to clients on system operation, configuration, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of all CCTV installations, repairs, and maintenance activities, including equipment inventory and service logs.
- Generate service reports and documentation detailing work performed, issues encountered, and resolutions implemented.
- Communicate findings and recommendations to clients and supervisors in a clear and concise manner.
- Adhere to safety protocols and best practices when working with CCTV equipment, including proper handling of electrical components and adherence to OSHA guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations and codes governing CCTV installation and operation, including privacy laws and data protection regulations.
Requirements:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in any field.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in CCTV installation and maintenance.
