We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Service Manager, also known as Works Manager, to oversee our automotive service department in Thalore (Thrissur). The Service Manager will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the service center, ensuring efficient workflow, and delivering exceptional customer service. Candidates with significant experience in the automotive industry, particularly in servicing and repairing used cars, are preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of the service center operations, including vehicle diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance.
  • Manage a team of technicians and support staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Optimize workflow and resource allocation to maximize efficiency and productivity.
  • Interact with customers to understand their service needs and address any concerns or questions.
  • Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction by providing timely and effective solutions to service issues.
  • Handle escalated customer complaints and ensure prompt resolution.
  • Possess a strong technical understanding of automotive systems and components.
  • Assist technicians with complex diagnostic and repair tasks as needed.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in automotive service and repair.
  • Implement quality control measures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of service work.
  • Conduct periodic inspections of completed repairs to verify compliance with quality standards.
  • Address any deficiencies or discrepancies identified during quality checks.
  • Oversee inventory management activities, including parts procurement, stocking, and inventory control.
  • Monitor parts usage and reorder levels to maintain adequate inventory levels.
  • Minimize waste and optimize inventory turnover to control costs.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in the automotive industry, with a focus on servicing and repairing vehicles.
  • Proven track record of success in a managerial or supervisory role within a service department.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in automotive diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Knowledge of automotive service software and systems.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality service.
