We are in search of a compassionate and skilled Nurse with a minimum of 1-2 years of nursing experience in an aged care setting. In this role, you will be responsible for the health and wellbeing of the elderly residents. These residents may no longer be capable of caring for themselves, and your role is vital in providing them with the care and support they need. This is a demanding yet rewarding position that encompasses a wide range of responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to elderly residents in accordance with their care plans.
  • Monitor and assess residents’ physical and emotional wellbeing.
  • Administer medications as prescribed and ensure residents receive the correct dosage and timely medications.
  • Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, and other ADLs as needed.
  • Encourage residents to maintain their independence to the best of their abilities.
  • Conduct health assessments and regular check-ups for residents.
  • Report any significant changes in residents’ health conditions to the appropriate medical professionals.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and charts for each resident.
  • Ensure compliance with all record-keeping requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, their families, and the healthcare team.
  • Provide emotional support and comfort to residents and their families.
  • Be prepared to respond to medical emergencies and provide first aid as needed.

Requirements:

  • GNM (General Nursing and Midwifery) or BSc Nursing qualification is required.
  • Kerala Nursing Council registration is mandatory.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of nursing experience in an aged care setting.
  • Compassionate and patient-centered care approach.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to empathize and provide emotional support to elderly residents.
  • Collaborative and able to work effectively as part of a healthcare team.
